Crowds, Memory and Traveling Continued

Above is my final piece for this 5 week project, hopefully you can see the development throughout my other pieces for me to reach this point. I have used a light wash of acrylic inbetween the lines of the buildings in the background, not only does this make it look more 3D, but the way I have used the layers of people does the most. I have created this 3D effect by attaching some of the people in the foreground to wood so that they protrude from the wood canvas.
Above and below are both close ups of my final piece, you can see the different media's of pens and paper/cardboard. This piece is definitely the most 3D looking one out of the set of four which I have developed.
Below is my studio space which I share with four other people. I really like my studio space this year as I find my two friends work to be a great inspiration to me, we always talk about one an-others work and give useful critical feedback to each other.
Below is Rebecca Henderson's work, we share the same studio space.
Below Is Megan Brook's work, we share the same studio space also.

Above is the final piece I produced for this ongoing 5 week project. It is done on a canvas of wood which has been covered in brown paper.
For this piece I decided to add a block of colour to the background to add greater depth by adding a contrast against the brown paper.

Crowds, Memory and Traveling Continued

Throughout this 5 week project I have leaned more towards drawing rather than painting, mainly due to the blurred effect that they give as I draw using messy unkept lines in a monotonous way which adds depth to each person/building.
Above you can see how my work is developing by adding buildings and colour.
Above is my studio space, I share this with four other people.

Crowds, Memory and Traveling

These pieces are the beginnings of my work which will contribute to my 5 week project where I have to produce 6 final pieces.

DanDan Originals

Over the summer I have been designing and painting t-shirts, I am hoping to sell these at a later date.
I wanted to do make the designs plain, simple so that they were bold and eye-catching.
I also made the labels for my t-shirts myself by using different coloured ribbons to match the colour of the design on each t-shirt.
Most of the t-shirts carry the design from the front onto the back so there is something to look at which ever angle you turn.

Behind The Mirror

Above: My Fine Art studio space for my second year at Uni. This work was a self devised brief where i concentrated on memory and time conjoining people with objects. I wanted to make my work more sculptural by experimenting with paint and objects.
Above: The collection has developed from textured canvas surfaces portraying the subject to the subject itself determining the way it is portrayed. A snapshot of a mirror’s reflection frozen in time showing a fragment of the face, almost like a picture, blanking out the parts you do not want to see. Focusing on the form of the human skin, how it is easily disguised, shown, glimpsed at in its blurred form. When in reality this is how it really is, merely that no one realises until it is brought forward right in front of your face.

Above: During the period of this brief I along with four other student held our own exhibition which was at 'The Glass Box' in Coventry.

These pieces show surfaces of faces, objects and buildings, looking at the texture in its close-up form. Smooth, rough, protruding materials portraying the subject as something it’s not, something you do not see at first. At closer inspection or touch, the pulpous mounds, deep cavities, smooth ridges are revealed.

Ollie The Penguin

'Ollie The Penguin' book written and illustrated by myself with a target audience of 3-6 years.
A story of a young penguin who wasn't satisfied with being a penguin, he went on an adventure to find other animals in the Arctic and tried his best to turn into them and copy there traits, but none of them worked. Eventually he saw his family playing in the distance and he realised how he loved being a penguin.
This was a self devised brief for my second year of Illustration at Uni.

Self Promotion Brief

Self promotion poster inviting people to an exhibition of my work. Allowing the reader to 'rip' off one of my curls as an invitation allowing the address of the event to be taken with them. This was done on Adobe Illustrator.
